It was my last day in New Orleans and I hadn’t gotten any good shots so I made a quick pass around the Jackson Square area a couple hours before my flight left. The neon REAL ESTATE sign in this alley caught my eye. It had been raining and was still drizzling. I didn’t want to set up the tripod so I just leaned against the building to take a quick photo. After I got back home and reviewed the shots I had taken, this one turned out to be the best of the trip. A co-worker, without even knowing this was taken in New Orleans, looked at this image and asked if the building at the end of the street was the Cabildo. I had no idea so I looked it up using Google Earth and found out he was right! It’s the building where the Louisiana Purchase was signed.
